Darn Good Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 18¼ oz box plain devils food or dark chocolate fudge cake mix 
  • 1 package chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup warm water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1½ cups semisweet chocolate chips

Method

  1. Place a rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Lightly grease your 12 Cup BUNDT pan and flour.  
  3. Place the cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, sour cream, warm water and oil in a large mixing bowl. 
  4. Blend with an electric mixer at low speed for 1 minute. Stop the mixer and scrape down the sides with a rubber spatula. Increase mixer speed and beat until the batter should look thick and well combined. 
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, making sure they are well distributed. Pour batter in you bundt cake pan. 
  6. Cook for 45-55 minutes your cake should spring back when lightly pressed with your finger and just starts to pull away from sides of pan.
  7. Remove the pan from the oven and place it on a wire rack to cool for 30 minutes. 
  8. Run a long knife around the edge of the cake and invert it onto a rack to completely, 20 minutes more. Serve warm.
